Pirate
I lost all pieces before I had time to think
About the losses that led me to this
This fire burns with a colour I failed
To protect and hide before the kingdom parade
I mark down chores I kept for yesterday
It’s called being burned out but that’s not the way
It’s simple to say to change your life
This ain’t Aladdin to rub your lamp
We are broken when born and will remain the same
Unless we mend the damages we gave
The scars remain as reminders of a bigger win
That ended up a defeat but we know it within
Curtains have been drawn to hide the light
We were long lost in people
We didn’t even recognise
Scrolling aimlessly through rubbish news
It’s not our fault that we are stuck
To a Universe far unknown
I never know what comes out
Of a sudden bliss of writing a verse
Ideas fight to vomit it’s soul
On a canvas keeping up with the glee
We never know the secrets we hold
It’s farther down than we thought it was
Rummaging through wastelands
Looking for treasures
That’s already in you
With values doubled
